Health Plus Ortho Management / Advanced Orthopedics Sports Medicine in Freehold, NJ is seeking an AR Billing and Collection Representative I. The role focuses on analyzing overdue accounts, coordinating with third-party payers and internal teams to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments.

The position operates Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, is not remote, and requires experience in medical AR and knowledge of healthcare billing. Office-based within a physician-led practice.

Qualifications

• 4+ years experience in medical accounts receivable/billing.
• Knowledge of healthcare insurance billing required.
• Authorized to work in the US without sponsorship.

Responsibilities

• Analyze and update assigned AR accounts to resolve payments per payer guidelines.
• Cross-trained in back-office functions including posting, AR, denial appeals, charge modifications, and Medicare accounts.
• Ensure timely and polite responses to billing questions from patients and insurers.
• Check Navinet or payer websites for payment status and set follow-ups.
• Assist with pre-surgery requirements in Surgimate and pricing checks.
• Provide monthly updates on litigated accounts and closures.
• Document all outstanding accounts with status and strategy for closure.
• Compile claims data and update logs, tracking and trending reports; share denial trends.
