Job summary

The YMCA in Minot, ND is seeking a part-time Aquatics Supervisor to support the Aquatics Director in daily operations, staff oversight, and program delivery. You will schedule lifeguards and swim instructors, manage group and private lessons, ensure safety standards, maintain records, and provide coaching to instructors.

Applicants should have lifeguard and swim instructor certifications, ability to lead teams, and strong customer service.

Qualifications

• Two years minimum as both a certified lifeguard and swim instructor.
• Current YMCA or ARC Lifeguard, CPR/AED, and First Aid certifications or obtained within 30 days of hire.
• YMCA Swim Instructor certification or equivalent within 30 days of hire.
• Strong swimming ability and demonstrated lifeguarding/instruction proficiency.
• Excellent leadership, interpersonal, communication, customer service, and conflict-resolution skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist the Aquatics Director in daily operations and department management.
• Lead staff and volunteers to ensure high-quality member service and program delivery.
• Recruit, interview, hire, onboard, train, and develop Aquatics staff and volunteers.
• Ensure adequate staffing for lifeguard stations, group/private lessons, and other programs.
• Plan staff in-services, safety audits, and ongoing professional development.
• Maintain internal communications on operations, schedules, and policies.
• Supervise Aquatics staff and enforce YMCA policies and safety standards.
• In the absence of the Aquatics Director, supervise all Aquatics operations.
