Job summary

The YMCA of Greater Cleveland is seeking an experienced aquatics leader to develop and implement high quality, member- and community-focused aquatic programs. You will direct staff, ensure safety, and manage partnerships to deliver youth and community services.

Responsibilities include staffing, training, program scheduling (swim lessons, water fitness, swim team), budget monitoring, and promoting programs while maintaining strict safety standards and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Associates degree preferred or 2–3 years related experience.
• Minimum of three years related experience.
• Red Cross Lifeguarding Certification required.
• Certified Pool Operator required or within 90 days of hire.
• CPR and First Aid certification required within 30 days.
• Experience supervising lifeguards and aquatics staff.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises program activities to meet community needs.
• Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
• Recruits, hires, trains, and directs personnel and volunteers as needed.
• Monitors pool operations to adhere to health and safety regulations.
• Maintains pool sanitation, equipment, and records of chemical levels.
• Creates and schedules aquatics programs (swim lessons, water fitness, swim team).
• Assists in marketing, budgeting and program promotion.
• Acts as a Cause Driven Leader on Duty and supports safety drills.
