Job summary

The YMCA in Warrensville Heights, OH seeks an Aquatics Programs Leader to develop, organize and implement high quality, member- and community-focused aquatic programs. You will direct staff, ensure safety and sanitation, and build partnerships with local organizations to grow programming.

You will lead lifeguards, swim instructors and support staff; oversee budgets, trainings and safety drills; and contribute to fundraising and events.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree preferred; in lieu, HS diploma or GED with 2-3 years related experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years of related experience required.
• Three (3) years of supervisor/leadership experience preferred (head Lifeguard, aquatics coordinator, or supervisor).
• Certifications: Pool Operator, Red Cross Lifeguarding, CPR and First Aid within specified timelines.
• Ability to work with diverse populations and respond effectively to emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Directs and supervises program activities to meet community needs and YMCA goals.
• Establishes new program activities and expands programs within the community.
• Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with community organizations.
• Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs personnel and volunteers as needed.
• Reviews and evaluates staff performance and motivates teams to reach goals.
• Ensures pool operation safety, equipment maintenance, and sanitation as required.
• Monitors pool operations to comply with health and safety regulations.
• Deliver lifeguarding, swim instruction, First Aid and CPR trainings.
• Develops and schedules aquatics programs and assists with marketing and budgets.
