Job summary

YMCA of Greater Cleveland is seeking a Coordinator, Aquatic Safety to help plan, manage, and implement safety programs across branches. You will supervise lifeguards and staff, coordinate safety operations, and ensure compliance with safety and child-protection policies.

The role requires at least 1 year in aquatic programming/instruction, CPR/AED and lifeguard credentials, and strong communication. This is an on-site role with community impact and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; Associate degree preferred.
• Minimum of 1 year of related experience in aquatic programming and aquatic instruction.
• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience preferred.
• Current CPR/AED Pro, First Aid, and lifeguard certifications (American Red Cross or YMCA) required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in planning, managing, and implementing aquatics safety programs and activities across branches.
• Support marketing and promotion of program information and special events.
• Supervise staff, manage schedules and time records, and ensure safety procedures are followed.
• Maintain clean and safe pool areas and equipment; report damaged materials.
• Ensure compliance with child protection policies and reporting procedures.
