The Aquatic Director provides overall direction, coordination, and success of YMCA Pool operations. What is needed for this job:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• 2+ years experience in fitness, retail, recreation management, or hospitality industries
• 2+ years experience managing 50+ team members
• 2+ years experience managing Profit and Loss (P&L) statements, revenue, EBITDA budgets
• Experience providing high-end member service and managing member concerns
• Track record of success in a performance-driven work environment
• 21 years of age with a bachelor's degree; current ARC Lifeguard/Water Park, CPR/AED for Professional Rescuer, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen certifications; YMCA Swim Lesson Instructor v6 Trainer or ARC Lifeguard Instructor certification with 2 years of related experience
• Ability to use water quality test kit

Responsibilities include:

• Understanding overall branch revenue and program goals; planning and executing daily/weekly workload to meet department, membership, and engagement goals
• Fostering a positive culture where teams enjoy working and members enjoy visiting; recognizing member-centered behaviors and rewarding outstanding performance
• Promoting diversity, inclusion, global engagement, and cultural competence within the environment
• Working a schedule that aligns with guest and business needs, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
• Ensuring the swimming facility meets or exceeds safety standards
• Facilitating monthly in-service meetings for skill review
• Supervising staff, ensuring appropriate staffing, coordinating breaks, and monitoring performance and service quality
• Developing high-quality aquatics programs, including swim lessons and water fitness classes
• Supervising pool safety to prevent injuries, ensuring attention to signs of distress
