Job summary

YMCA of the East Bay seeks an Aquatics Coordinator to support lifeguard supervision, pool operations, and maintenance. The role may involve teaching group/private swim lessons and water fitness as a secondary duty, under supervision of the Aquatics Director.

Responsibilities include scheduling staff, maintaining records, coordinating lessons, and ensuring safety rules and standards are followed while engaging with members and staff.

Qualifications

• Associates degree or equivalent in a related field.
• Lifeguarding, CPR for the Professional Rescuer, AED and Standard First Aid certifications are required.
• YMCA Swim Instructor certification or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people.

Responsibilities

• Oversee lifeguard team management, orientation, training, and scheduling.
• Assist in supervision of group swim lessons and lifeguards, instructors and volunteers.
• Provide lifeguard coverage and may teach group/private swim lessons and water fitness.
• Resolve member questions and complaints and maintain records/rosters.
• Maintain pool programs, registration data, and communications with members.
• Attend staff meetings and required trainings; ensure safety and compliance.
