Job summary

The Edwardsville YMCA is seeking an Aquatics Coordinator to oversee lifeguard operations, swim lessons, and daily pool activities. You will lead staff, ensure safety and quality of programs, and enhance member experiences on the pool deck.

Reporting to the Aquatics Director, this role supports scheduling, training, regulatory compliance, and maintenance coordination, while promoting a welcoming environment and community engagement.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Two+ years in aquatics, recreation, or youth programming preferred.
• Current YMCA or Red Cross Lifeguard certification with CPR/AED.

Responsibilities

• Oversee lifeguard operations, swim lessons, and aquatic activities.
• Recruit, hire, train, schedule, supervise, and develop aquatics staff.
• Coordinate lifeguard certification, recertification, and trainings.
• Ensure safety, cleanliness, and regulatory compliance of facilities.
• Provide direct program support and maintain member experience.
• Assist with program enrollment, inventory, and reporting.
• Support fundraising and organizational activities.
