Job summary

GEORGIA RECREATION AND PARK ASSOCIATION INC is seeking a qualified supervisor to plan, coordinate, and implement aquatic and recreational programs County-wide. The role involves hiring and guiding part-time staff, instructors, and volunteers for aquatics facilities.

You will oversee program operations, safety, budgeting, and public relations efforts to promote participation and ensure high-quality services for diverse communities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Recreation Administration preferred; equivalent combinations considered.
• Minimum one year experience in recreational programming or related field.
• Valid Georgia driver's license.

Responsibilities

• Plans and directs an expanding and flexible program of activities for all segments, groups, ages, and interest levels; coordinates regularly scheduled events; determines materials and staff needed.
• Interviews, selects, and schedules instructors/volunteers; provides training and guidance; recognizes volunteers.
• Supervises and evaluates assigned staff; handles performance, counseling, and hiring processes.
• Sets and oversees collection and accounting of fees and charges for aquatic programs and facilities.
• Inspects equipment and facilities for security and safety.
• Develops aquatic programs; plans beach or facility activities.
• Completes staff schedules, including lifeguards; coordinates park rentals and activity calendars.
• Assists in other programs as needed.
