Job summary

City of Atlanta Parks & Recreation is seeking an Aquatics Facility Supervisor to oversee staff and the daily operations of a municipal pool. You will supervise lifeguards and safety instructors, perform CPR/First Aid as needed, and ensure pool safety and sanitation standards are met.

The role requires leadership experience in aquatics, plus certifications like CPR, LG, and WSI. The position focuses on program growth, community involvement, scheduling, and maintaining facility compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• CPR; First Aid; Lifeguard Training (LGT); Valid Georgia Driver's license.
• Preferred: Some college or vocational training; five years of aquatics and supervisory experience; listed certifications.

Responsibilities

• Prepare documents for evaluations, revenue and inspection reports, meetings, supplies, payroll, staff scheduling.
• Register, collect fees, and maintain records for class, season pass, lap swim, weight room, water aerobics, and swim lesson participants.
• Maintain order and cleanliness of the facility to meet local government standards.
• Attend necessary meetings including facility staff, monthly ATL Stats, and GRPA meetings.
• Supervise employees regarding time cards, program staffing and participation, and disciplinary procedures.
• Compile budgets for pool chemicals, program equipment, supplies, and seasonal programming.
• Maintain formal supervisory authority over a work group (typically 4–5 employees).
• Inspect facility equipment, maintain/repair/replace items as needed.
• Make purchasing or resource allocation decisions within guidelines.
• Provide customer-based needs and resolve issues.
• Coordinate, oversee, and monitor program operations.
• Enforce safety rules and regulations for patrons and guests.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
