The City of Miamisburg is seeking an Aquatic Assistant Operations Manager for Sycamore Trails Aquatic Center. This seasonal role reports to the Aquatic Manager and focuses on concessions, admissions, and guest services, with responsibilities in staff supervision, training, and customer experience.
Responsibilities include daily management, scheduling, and accountability of guest services and concessions staff, ensuring smooth operations and a high-quality visitor experience during the season.
The Aquatic Assistant Operations Manager reports to the Aquatic Manager and plays an integral role in the fulfillment of Miamisburg Parks and Recreations’ mission and vision. The Aquatic Assistant Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the concessions, admissions, and guest services areas as well as customer experience at the Sycamore Trails Aquatic Center. Responsibilities include assisting in interviews, supervision, training, and evaluation of aquatic facility employees, as well as ensuring excellent customer service throughout daily operations. Essential responsibilities include the daily management, scheduling, and accountability of the aquatic guest service and concessions staff, as well as ensuring the daily operations, customer experience, and function of the facility are monitored.
Compensation for this position is $17.00 to $21.00 per hour DOQ

The Aquatic Assistant Operations Manager will be thoroughly committed to Miamisburg Recreation and Parks mission. All candidates should have experience working in a customer-oriented setting, be comfortable delivering positive as well as constructive feedback to staff, and thrive in a teamwork environment. The Aquatic Assistant Operations Manager will be responsible for the daily management of the aquatic facility including supervision of all seasonal staff, management, and care of all equipment. A passion for recreation and service to one’s community is an expected element of what qualified individuals will bring to this position. A minimum of two seasons experience as a swim instructor or Cashier, one season as a Head Cashier or Head Lifeguard, or other Assistant Manager position. A basic understanding of point-of-sale systems and cash handling as well as concessions operations and food prep. Must possess a valid Ohio driver’s license and be able to complete Red Cross BLS, First Aid, and Emergency Oxygen trainings upon hire as well as complete the Ohio Department of Health Person in Charge Training.

The Aquatic Assistant Operations Manager position requires the employee to work with computers, electronic, and mechanical systems, both indoors and outdoors, including inclement weather. Some exposure to chemicals, high noise levels and other environmental conditions may be necessary to perform the job. This position is frequently required to interact with customers. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust visual focus. Employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, bend, use hands, speak, hear, see, read, concentrate and/or lift up-to 50lbs. or more with proper equipment. Employee will be required to drive city-issued vehicles including but not limited to golf carts, utility vehicle, SUV, or pick-up truck.
