Job summary

Newrez is seeking a Manager of Quality Control for its Appraisal Management division to lead QC operations, ensure compliance with USPAP and agency guidelines, and drive continuous improvement in appraisal review processes.

The role supervises staff, develops quality strategies, and partners with Compliance, Operations, and Vendor Management to deliver accurate, timely, and defensible appraisals.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
• 5+ years of related experience in real estate appraisal quality control, appraisal review, or appraisal operations.
• 2+ years management experience preferred.
• Prior experience with USPAP standards and agency/investor guidelines, including Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, and VA requirements required.
• Previously held or currently hold an appraisal license or certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain robust quality control processes in alignment with company objectives and applicable regulatory requirements (e.g., USPAP, Dodd-Frank, FHA, etc.).
• Establish and maintain clear policies and procedures for quality control across all appraisal review functions.
• Monitor daily operations of the QC department to ensure timely, accurate, and consistent quality reviews are performed.
• Analyze quality control data and reporting to identify trends, deficiencies, and areas for improvement.
• Escalate significant QC issues and potential compliance risks to senior leadership in a timely and effective manner.
• Report on quality, turn time, and client driven metrics.
• Maintain documentation of QC procedures, audit results, corrective actions, and training programs.
• Ensure the department remains up to date with evolving regulatory changes and industry standards.
• Support internal and external audits by preparing necessary documentation and facilitating auditor requests.
• Update Engagement Letters to meet client and regulatory standards.
