Job summary

HarbisonWalker International seeks an Application and Technical Support Specialist II to leverage refractory product knowledge in supporting commercial activities, product selection, and customer-focused solutions. You will collaborate with engineering to address customer needs and drive technical excellence across projects.

Responsibilities include technical support, design recommendations, market analyses, and cross-functional teamwork to promote products and solve complex customer problems.

Qualifications

• Requires a B.S. degree in Engineering (Ceramics, Metallurgy, Chemical, Materials Science or related field).
• Proficient knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Access, PowerPoint).
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
• Strong analytical, strategic thinking and business problem solving skills.
• Project management skills and the ability to coordinate multi-department projects.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support for customers, quotations, training, investigations, failure analysis and R&D collaboration.
• Analyze application needs and refine lining designs and installation methods for customers.
• Contribute to product promotions and marketing strategies; attend industry trade shows.
• Perform market analysis and product portfolio analysis to identify opportunities.
• Provide strategic customer sales and technical support.
• Assist in product rationalization, portfolio modifications, and pricing/ positioning.
