Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Software Engineer II (Applications) to design, develop and test software for our training and simulation product lines within an Agile, collaborative environment.

You will contribute through the full software lifecycle, write unit tests, participate in design reviews, mentor less experienced engineers, and work with multiple teams to reuse software across programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics
• 2–5 years of Windows or Linux application software development with OO design
• Expertise in C# .Net, C++, and/or QT; Unity experience
• Familiar with SVN and Git; Agile software development process

Responsibilities

• Works within a defined software life cycle development process
• Understands the requirements and process; participates in design reviews
• Creates software design documentation per process guidance
• Implements coding to standards and validates with tests
• Delivers work on time according to project schedule & budget
• Supports and derives algorithm design from software requirements
• Collaborates with multiple teams to reuse software across programs
• Mentors less experienced engineers
