Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to work in a fast-paced Agile environment under mentorship. You will plan, design, develop, and test software for products including cloud-based tools and web interfaces.

The role emphasizes hands-on coding, unit testing, design reviews, and collaboration across multiple software teams. Occasional travel may be required, with ITAR compliance considerations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
• 0–2 years of Windows or Linux application software development.
• OO design experience; Qt is a plus.
• Proficiency in C# .Net, Java, C++, or Web UI.
• Familiar with SVN and Git for version control.
• Experience writing unit tests and debugging techniques.
• Willingness to travel locally (Occasionally).

Responsibilities

• Works within a defined software life cycle development process.
• Supports full life-cycle of product from design to maintenance.
• Codes, simulates, integrates and validates software.
• Writes modular, reusable, testable, scalable code.
• Writes unit tests for the code written.
• Participates in software design reviews.
• Delivers work on time per project schedule and budget.
• Uses JIRA to log work and track task status.
• Collaborates with multiple software teams across programs.
• Follows AV's development process under supervision.
