Job summary

AeroVironment in Huntsville, AL is seeking a Software Engineer II (Applications) to design, develop, test and maintain software for training and simulation product lines. You will work in a fast‑moving, Agile environment on stand‑alone, networked, cloud‑based or internet tools.

Responsibilities include contributing to software life cycle processes, performing reviews, writing tests, delivering on schedule, mentoring junior engineers and collaborating with multiple teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Math, or Physics or equivalent experience.
• 2–5 years of Windows or Linux application software development with OO design experience.
• Expertise in C# .Net, C, or QT and Unity development.
• Experience writing unit tests and debugging code.
• Familiarity with Agile Software Development Process Management and formal lifecycle processes.

Responsibilities

• Works within a defined software life cycle development process.
• Participates in software design reviews and understands requirements.
• Writes design documentation and contributes to process improvements.
• Implements coding per standards, writes tests and validates software.
• Delivers work on time per schedule and budget.
• Mentors less experienced engineers and collaborates with multiple teams.
