Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking a Software Engineer in California to design, develop, test, and maintain software for our aerospace and defense systems.

You will work in a fast-paced, Agile environment mentored by senior engineers and contribute to cloud-based or internet-enabled tools. You should have 2–5 years of software development experience on Windows or Linux, proficiency in C#, Java, C++, and/or Web UI, and a strong foundation in unit testing and Agile processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field is required or equivalent
• 2–5 years of Windows/Linux app development experience
• Experience with Agile lifecycle and testing practices
• Familiarity with source control tools SVN/Git

Responsibilities

• Works within a defined software life cycle development process
• Participates in software design reviews and requirement understanding
• Creates software design docs per process guidance
• Writes and tests code according to standards and processes
• Delivers work on time per project schedule and budget
• Supports algorithm design from detailed requirements
• Collaborates with multiple teams to reuse software across programs
• Mentors less experienced engineers
• Takes on tasks of moderate scope within defined procedures
• Builds productive internal/external relationships
• Performs other duties as assigned
