Job summary

AeroVironment, Inc. is seeking an Associate Software Engineer to join a fast-moving, Agile development team. You will plan, design, develop and test software systems for new products and cloud-based tools, mentored by experienced engineers.

The role covers full software life-cycle activities, from design through deployment, with opportunities to work on Windows/Linux, C++, C#, Java, and Web UI projects in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering or related discipline is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
• 0 - 2 years of relevant experience in Windows or Linux application software development; OOD experience a must; Qt experience is a plus.
• Expertise in one of the following: C# .Net, Java, C++, and/or Web UI.
• Experience with source code configuration management tools such as SVN and Git.
• Experience writing unit tests, using an IDE and debugging techniques.
• Demonstrated mathematical and analytical skills are required.
• Understanding of object-oriented design, data structures, databases, and operating systems.

Responsibilities

• Works within a defined software life cycle development process.
• Supports the full life-cycle of product including design, coding, debugging, test, deployment and maintenance.
• Codes, simulates, integrates and validates software; writes quality, modular, reusable, testable, scalable code and unit tests.
• Participates in software design reviews.
• Delivers work on time according to estimates and project schedule and budget.
• Supports and derives algorithm design from detailed software requirements.
• Uses JIRA to track work and collaborates with multiple teams.
• Follows AV’s software development process under supervision.
• Works on problems of limited scope in a learning environment.
• Collaborates with other engineering disciplines.
