Job summary

Loparex LLC, the world's leading manufacturer of extrusion base and silicone coated release liners, seeks an Applications Manager to drive new product development from concept to commercialization and to support customer success.

This role works with the sales team, applies six sigma principles, and coordinates trials and documentation. Expect ~25% regional travel with potential surges, and opportunities for growth within a global manufacturing network.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related field.
  • Understanding of Six Sigma principles.

  • Operations or operations support background preferred.
  • Prior field service experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Technical ownership of commercialized products, including NPD/CTO and go-to products.
  • Support Commercial group with technical activities and on-site customer visits.
  • Create trial plans for new product development projects with operations.
  • Create new products in the Evolve system and manage semi-finished products.
  • Manage urgent non-transactional complaint investigations.
  • End-to-end ownership of new product development from trials to commercialization.
  • Support raw material changes as needed.
  • Review and approve complaint investigation reports.
  • Compile customer specification documents and data analysis.
  • Support sales with call reports for key meetings using Salesforce.
  • Travel regionally about 25% with possible surges above 50%.

We have an exciting opportunity for an Applications Manager to join our team and play a key role in driving innovation, supporting customer success, and advancing our strategic growth initiatives.

Applications Managers support the Loparex Sales teams with all technical customer engagements by owning all aspects of new product creation and development from initiation through commercialization. Applications Managers should have intimate Loparex product and process understanding, they must have strong process troubleshooting and assessment skills with excellent customer communication skills.

The Applications Manager can be considered a development role for potential Operations, Marketing or Commercial leadership roles. Customer of strategic value justify dedicated technical support with an experienced professional Applications Manager position.

Loparex is headquartered in Cary, North Carolina, U.S.A. and has four manufacturing sites in North America (Hammond, WI; Iowa City; IA; Malvern, PA; Manteno, IL), two manufacturing sites in Europe (Apeldoorn, The Netherlands; Forchheim, Germany), one manufacturing site in India (Silvassa) and one manufacturing site in China (Guangzhou). While all qualified candidates will be considered, candidates located near one of Loparex's U.S. sites are strongly preferred.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Technical ownership of commercialized products, including MOC activities.
  • Support Loparex Commercial group with all technical activities to realize customer requirements – including customer on site visits.
  • Responsible for new product creation – NPD, CTO or go to products. Provide trial plans to the operations group for new product development projects.
  • Create new products within the Evolve system, including semi-finished products where appropriate.
  • Manage urgent complaint investigations for non-transactional customer complaints.
  • Cradle to grave ownership of new product development including Loparex plant trials to commercialization.
  • Support raw material changes as appropriate
  • Review and approve complaint investigation reports, ensuring they satisfy customer requirements. Support financial resolution.
  • Compile customer specification documents, including data analysis and record appropriately, acquiring suitable plant acceptance.
  • Support commercial team produce call reports for key customer meetings, using Salesforce.
  • This role will require nominally 25% travel (regional) with monthly surges that might exceed 50%
Job Skills, Experience, and Knowledge Requirements:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, science, paper/polymer science, a related process field or equivalent experience required.
