Job summary

Loparex LLC is seeking an Electrical & Instrumentation Technician for our Hammond facility. The role involves wiring, repairing, and testing electrical systems on industrial machinery, following blueprints, schematics, and codes. The shift is 5:00 AM to 5:00 PM with a 2-2-3 schedule and Friday–Sunday off on alternate weeks.

Applicants should have strong safety, mechanical aptitude, and the ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for long periods. Prior manufacturing experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Reading and following electrical schematics and blueprints.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds and stand for 12 hours.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Demonstrates safety, quality, productivity and customer focus.

Responsibilities

• Install and repair electrical systems on industrial machinery following codes, manuals, schematics and blueprints.
• Install power wiring and conduit for machines and equipment including robots, conveyors and controllers.
• Connect wires between machines per diagrams using hand tools and test equipment.
• Diagnose malfunctions using test equipment and replace faulty components.
• Communicate status and issues to prior and oncoming shift personnel.

We are currently looking for an experienced Electrical & Instrumentation Technician to work in the Hammond facility

Day Shift Schedule: 5:00AM - 5:00PM

• 2-2-3 Schedule (2 days on Monday-Thursday; Every other Friday-Sunday off)

Base Pay Rate: Depending on Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Installs and repairs electrical systems, apparatus, and electrical and electronic components of industrial machinery and equipment, following electrical code, manuals, schematic diagrams, blueprints, and other specifications, using hand tools, power tools, and electrical and electronic test equipment.
• Installs power supply wiring and conduit for newly installed machines and equipment, such as robots, conveyors, and programmable controllers, following electrical code and blueprints, using hand tools and voltage tester.
• Connects power supply wires to machines and equipment, and connects cables and wires between machines and equipment, following manuals, schematic diagrams, and blueprints, using hand tools and test equipment.
• Diagnoses malfunctioning apparatus, such as transformers, motors, and lighting fixtures, using test equipment, and replaces damaged or broken wires and cables, using hand tools.
• Tests malfunctioning machinery, using test equipment, and discusses malfunction with other maintenance workers to diagnose malfunction.
• Replaces faulty electrical components of machine, such as relays, switches, and motors, and positions sensing devices, using hand tools. Diagnoses and repairs or replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit using electronic test equipment and hand tools
• Diagnose and replace faulty mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components of machines and equipment.
• Effectively communicate with prior and oncoming shift personal regarding status of runs, status, etc.

Qualifications

• Strong commitment to safety, quality, productivity and customers.
• Requires the ability to read and write, follow verbal and written instructions, use basic math, take accurate measurements and use hand tools.
• Strong mechanical aptitude.
• Strong interpersonal and team skills.
• Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
• Ability to lift 50 pounds.
• Ability to stand/walk for 12 hours.
