Job summary

Universal Instruments in Rochester, NY seeks an entry‑level Application Engineer to support customers and the sales team. You will learn to evaluate product applications, assist in quotations, and coordinate with design and supply chain to fulfill tooling projects.

You will participate in pre/post-sale activities, assist with customer presentations, and help ensure installations meet specifications. This role offers growth and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline with 0–2 years in capital goods or related capital equipment fields.
• Experience with SolidWorks and PTC CREO is preferred.
• Ability to complete solutions line drawings for field sales/customers.
• Automation equipment programming and debugging aptitude is preferred.
• MS Office Suite proficiency expected.

Responsibilities

• Provide application engineering support to customers, sales, and product teams before and after sale.
• Assist with evaluating feasibility of product applications and drive RFQ progression when feasible.
• Learn to develop quotations including development time, cost, and schedule.
• Assist in developing solutions with design teams and coordinate with supply chain for materials.
• Support installation and testing of tooling and ensure equipment meets customer specs.
• Represent Universal at trade shows and technical seminars.
