National Life Group, a Montpelier, VT-based insurer, is modernizing with digital-first solutions. The IT Applications Development Intern will collaborate with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other technology professionals to develop, enhance, test, and support business applications across the full lifecycle.

The 10-week paid internship runs June 1–August 6 with onsite four days per week (Mon–Thu).

Qualifications

Enrolled in a degree program related to Computer Science, Information Systems, Information Technology, Mathematics, Data Science, Engineering, or a similar technical field.
Exposure to Angular, Java, GitHub, DevOps tools, or cloud platforms is a plus.
Familiarity with AI tools, prompt engineering, or using AI to support coding and troubleshooting is a plus.

Responsibilities

Collaborate with cross-functional teammates to document and analyze digital customer experiences.
Develop metrics, reporting, visualization, analysis, and recommendations to guide strategy.
Work with technical teams to develop and support web applications, APIs, and solutions for internal and external users.
Build and enhance applications using Angular, Java, REST APIs, and cloud platforms.
Participate in Agile/Scrum meetings and deliver development and support tasks.
Utilize DevOps tools to support code management, testing, and automated deployments.
Apply approved AI tools for coding, research, troubleshooting, and documentation.
