Job summary

Blue Cross & Blue Shield of Mississippi (BCBSMS) is seeking an Applications Support Specialist in Flowood, MS. You will provide first-level support for core business applications, becoming the SME and bridging gaps between technology and operations.

Expect hands-on problem solving, clear communication, and proactive process improvements. You will collaborate with Server, Network, and Information Security teams, produce technical docs, and train staff on application usage.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, math or related field
• 2+ years working in a technology support role
• Strong verbal and written interpersonal and communication skills
• Superior telephone etiquette in customer interactions
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office tools
• High degree of accuracy in work and documentation

Responsibilities

• Provide first level support for the assigned business area to resolve application issues
• Analyze business processes and recommend improvements to management
• Coordinate with vendors to manage installations, upgrades and updates
• Cross-functionally collaborate with Server Engineers, Network Engineers, Information Security and others to oversee implementations
• Provide technical documentation, reports on application status, and training to users
