Job summary

Matlen Silver is seeking an Application Support Engineer Consultant to join the production support team just outside Phoenix in Chandler, AZ. The role is hybrid, requiring 3 onsite days per week and involves responding to incidents, release/deployment coordination, and monitoring across the U.S.

Candidates should have 3+ years of production support experience, strong UNIX/Linux troubleshooting skills, experience with Oracle/SQL Server, and Java or Python development.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of production support experience with enterprise applications.
• Unix/Linux troubleshooting, Oracle/SQL Server databases, and Java or Python applications.
• Scripting in Unix/Linux: shell, bash, ksh, Perl, or Python.
• Experience with Geneos ITRS.
• Autosys is nice to have.
• ITIL certification recommended.
• Exposure to Back and Front Office Operations in investment banking.

Responsibilities

• Provides monitoring and support for triaging application problems and coordinating with various support teams across the organization including activities related to application incident and problem management.
• Performs root cause analysis and communicates status and health of the application to line of business and management.
• Looks for areas of improvement in monitoring, application stability, and speed of determining root cause.
• Performs troubleshooting, analysis, research and resolution using advanced query and scripting skills.
• Work closely with Technology Infrastructure Teams, Development & Testing Teams in supporting releases and upgrades.
• Performs real-time restoration and triaging of issues impacting technical services to customers and partners while keeping them advised.
• Assesses initial severity, gathers impacts, creates tickets in Remedy, and escalates as necessary to ensure timely restoration.
• Participate in DR and Resiliency.

Job Description:

Matlen Silver is actively recruiting for an Application Support Engineer Consultant to work for our client's production support team just outside of Phoenix in Chandler, AZ to provide front line technical support to end users throughout the U.S. This includes responding to issues related to Problem/Incident Management, Release/Deployment, Operational Readiness, Application Monitoring, Production Governance related to issues. This role is a hybrid work model that requires 3 days onsite per week in the client's Chandler office.

Responsibilities:

• Provides monitoring and support for triaging application problems and coordinating with various support teams across the organization including activities related to application incident and problem management.
• Performs root cause analysis and communicates with the line of business and management the overall status and health of the application throughout the support process.
• Looks for areas of improvement in monitoring, application stability, and speed of determining root cause.
• Performs troubleshooting, analysis, research and resolution using advanced query and scripting skills.
• Work closely with Technology Infrastructure Teams, Development & Testing Teams in supporting Integrated / Independent releases, software/hardware upgrades, server upgrades.
• Performs real-time restoration and triaging of issues impacting technical services (application/infrastructure) to customers and partners in a timely manner while keeping partners advised of significant progress or challenges during the restoration period.
• Assesses initial severity, gather impacts, creates tickets in Remedy, engages necessary support teams, and escalates as necessary to ensure timely restoration
• Participate in DR and Resiliency.

Desired Experience:

• 3+ years of production support experience working with enterprise custom and vendor developed applications.
• Hands on troubleshooting experience of UNIX/Linux OS, Relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server), and applications developer in Java or Python .
• Scripting knowledge within UNIX/Linux OS including shell, bash, ksh, Perl, or Python
• Experience with Geneos ITRS
• Autosys nice to have
• ITIL certification recommended
• Exposure to Back and Front Office Operations in investment banking environment
