Job summary

Heitek Automation, a SunSource company, seeks an Application Engineering Manager to lead the Application Engineering team and partner with sales, marketing, and operations to drive technical value in the sales process.

Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will guide engineers, ensure certifications, and develop technical training materials. This role requires strong leadership, design expertise, and communication skills within a dynamic automation environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering from an accredited university.
• 5+ years of experience in engineering or related field.
• 2+ years of leadership or team management experience.

Responsibilities

• Travel periodically to different branches to do joint sales calls with the application team and work on application sales tactics.
• Track and monitor partner certification requirements and ensure they are met quarterly.
• Provide plans for when changes to the team require you to catch up on certifications.
• Define a tracking and reporting method for utilization on application engineering supported sales calls.
• Collaborate with marketing to drive SIPEC initiatives across the organization.
• Define and drive generation of white papers and technical videos of core products.
