Job summary

BCforward is seeking a Workday HCM Product Solutions Consultant to join our HR Product team for a 4‑month contract (Sept 2026 – Dec 2026). This role is based in Minneapolis, MN or Charlotte, NC with a hybrid schedule (60% in-office) and negotiable conditions.

You will define and prioritize the Workday HCM backlog, design and configure Core HCM, and partner with stakeholders across the business to deliver high-value HR solutions within an Agile team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer engineering, HR, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of Workday experience focused on Core HCM.
• Experience gathering requirements, designing, prototyping, and testing Workday Core HCM solutions.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Partner with business stakeholders and product teams to gather, refine, and document Workday HCM requirements.
• Configure, enhance, and optimize Core HCM functionality within Workday.
• Translate business requirements into functional Workday capabilities and scalable solution designs.
• Coordinate and complete user acceptance testing, including issue tracking, validation, and defect resolution support.
• Collaborate with executive-level employees, product owners, and cross-functional partners to ensure successful delivery.
• Provide functional guidance on the Workday Business Process Framework.

Job Description

The HR Product team is seeking an experienced Workday HCM Product Solutions Consultant to join an Agile team responsible for defining and prioritizing the product backlog in alignment with business vision and priorities. You will design, configure, test, and deliver Workday HCM capabilities that enhance employee and stakeholder experiences. You will promote cross-functional collaboration to drive innovation while operating within an Agile framework to deliver high-value outcomes. You will facilitate sessions to automate scalable business processes, rules, and workflows that support changing strategies and employee experience needs. You will partner closely with business customers to understand needs, define outcomes, identify gaps and solution opportunities, support release and product planning, and manage delivery expectations. This role will focus on Workday Core HCM.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in information systems, computer engineering, human resources, or equivalent work experience.
• 5+ years of relevant technical experience in Workday, with emphasis on Core HCM.
• Experience gathering requirements, designing solutions, prototyping, and testing Workday Core HCM solutions.
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Preferred Skills:

• Global configuration experience in Workday.
• Knowledge of offer letter configuration, job requisitions, and dynamic process configuration for job applications.
• Ability to analyze current and future product needs, evaluate applications or vendors, and drive automation in complex environments.
• Advanced knowledge of desktop technology, Microsoft Office, Windows infrastructure, industry tools, and key enterprise software.
• Thorough knowledge of HR functions and rules, including payroll, compensation, recruiting, staffing, and benefits.
• Expertise with HR strategic platforms, including Workday and Jira, and the broader HR technology ecosystem.
• Ability to identify threats and vulnerabilities in cloud environments.
• Proven experience configuring and designing complex workflows and business rules, with sound process or technical change recommendations.
