Job description

**Job Description:**

This position involves complex to expert level work supporting information technology applications through planning, designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing these systems.

Examples include electronic health records, registration, scheduling, billing and collections, lab and pathology, radiology, PACS, cardiovascular, pharmacy, home care, long-term care, population health, patient-facing technologies, enterprise resource planning, workforce scheduling, time and attendance, and customer relationship management.

The Principal Analyst oversees technical support, configuration, integration, and maintenance for healthcare applications throughout their lifecycle, including selection, implementation, support, archival, and decommissioning.

This role provides strategic guidance, ensuring application support aligns with organizational goals. The Principal Analyst manages projects, mentors other analysts, and develops best practices and standards for application configuration, deployment, support, and decommissioning.

Supervision of lower-level analysts may be required.

Essential functions are performed independently with minimal supervision and include:

  1. Providing stakeholder support through problem analysis and diagnosis.
  2. Gathering, validating, and translating technical requirements into design specifications and product management.
  3. Configuring, testing, installing, implementing, monitoring, and maintaining systems.
  4. Documenting and recommending workflow and technical/functional design changes.
  5. Partnering with external vendors for third-party application support, integration, and troubleshooting.
  6. Resolving complex issues according to service levels and department standards.
  7. Serving as project manager for complex projects, collaborating with DTS Project Managers, and ensuring organized project execution.
  8. Reviewing project quality, managing demand and resources, and creating remediation plans if needed.
  9. Mentoring teams and identifying training opportunities.
  10. Developing best practices and standards collaboratively with peers and vendors.
  11. Following documentation and change management standards.
  12. Participating in training development for peers and end-users.
  13. Configuring and integrating hardware with software to meet client specifications.
  14. Understanding and developing business reporting needs.
  15. Participating in on-call and command center duties.
  16. Developing testing plans and scripts to verify system outputs and integrity.
  17. Engaging in team, project, and department meetings to foster communication.
  18. Assisting in budget creation, forecasting, and justification.
  19. Participating in industry groups and community discussions.
  20. Managing IT project portfolios to ensure alignment with strategy and delivery of value.
  21. Attending and facilitating meetings with leadership, advocating data-driven decision-making.
  22. Using KPIs to track project benefits and deriving lessons for future governance.
  23. Providing detailed project information to support strategic decision-making.
  24. Conducting service reviews and communicating survey results and improvement plans.

**Skills:**

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel (pivot tables), Visio, Project, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Deep business and application knowledge.
  • Knowledge of system analysis and hospital operating systems.
  • Needs assessment and documentation skills.
  • Problem-solving and data collection expertise.
  • Ability to interpret industry publications, technical procedures, and regulations.
  • Strong report writing and communication skills.
  • Leadership in project management and control.
  • Strategic resource planning and management skills.

**Qualifications:**

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, healthcare, business, or related field (additional experience may substitute).
  • Healthy Planet Compass Rose certification.
  • 3+ years of experience with Epic Care Management tools.
  • 2+ years building Epic Compass Rose programs.
  • Experience developing collaborative care plans and SDoH.
  • Experience with Reporting Workbench reports and Epic modules like Ambulatory or ClinDoc.
  • Strong technical skills in Epic application build, configuration, and maintenance.
  • At least 8 years of healthcare work experience.

**Physical Requirements:**

  • Operate computers and other IT equipment.
  • Read monitors and documents.
  • Remain seated or standing for extended periods.

**Location:** Peaks Regional Office, Broomfield, Colorado

**Hours:** 40 per week

The hourly range is $53.58 - $84.36, dependent on experience.
