Job Description

This position involves complex to expert level work supporting information technology applications through planning, designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing these systems.

Key areas include electronic health records, registration, scheduling, billing, collections, lab and pathology, radiology, PACS, cardiovascular, pharmacy, home care, long-term care, population health, patient-facing technologies, ERP, workforce scheduling, time and attendance, and CRM.

The Principal Analyst oversees technical support, configuration, integration, and maintenance of healthcare applications throughout their lifecycle, including selection, implementation, support, archiving, and decommissioning.

This role provides strategic guidance, manages projects, mentors team members, and develops best practices and standards for application management.

Supervision of lower-level analysts may be required.

Essential Functions
  1. Supports stakeholders by analyzing and diagnosing problems to determine solutions.
  2. Gathers, validates, and translates technical requirements into design and development specifications, providing product management.
  3. Configures, tests, installs, implements, monitors, and maintains complex systems.
  4. Documents workflow changes and technical/functional designs to support business needs.
  5. Partners with vendors to support third-party applications, including integration, support, and troubleshooting.
  6. Resolves complex issues and incidents according to service levels and standards.
  7. Serves as project manager for complex projects, ensuring organized planning and execution.
  8. Reviews team projects, manages demand and resources, and develops remediation plans as needed.
  9. Mentors team members and identifies training opportunities.
  10. Collaborates to develop best practices and standards.
  11. Follows documentation and change management standards.
  12. Participates in training development and knowledge sharing.
  13. Configures and integrates hardware with software to meet client specifications.
  14. Develops understanding of business reporting needs.
  15. Participates in on-call and command center duties.
  16. Develops testing plans and scripts to verify system outputs.
  17. Attends meetings to enhance communication and awareness.
  18. Assists in budget forecasting, maintenance, and justification.
  19. Engages in industry groups and community discussions.
  20. Manages IT projects aligning with organizational strategies and priorities.
  21. Communicates project benefits and tracks outcomes using KPIs.
  22. Provides detailed project information for leadership decision-making.
  23. Conducts service reviews with business leaders and follows up on improvement initiatives.
Skills
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Excel (pivot tables), Visio, Project, PowerPoint, Word.
  • Deep knowledge of business and applications.
  • Understanding of system analysis and hospital operating systems.
  • Needs assessment and documentation skills.
  • Problem-solving and data analysis abilities.
  • Ability to interpret industry and governmental materials.
  • Report writing and communication skills.
  • Project management and resource planning expertise.
Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, healthcare, business, or related field (additional experience may substitute).
  • Healthy Planet Compass Rose certification.
  • 3+ years Epic Care Management experience.
  • 2+ years Epic Compass Rose program experience.
  • Experience with collaborative care plans and SDoH.
  • Experience with Reporting Workbench reports.
  • Experience in Epic modules, Ambulatory or ClinDoc.
  • Strong Epic application build, configuration, and maintenance skills.
  • At least 8 years of healthcare experience.
Physical Requirements
  • Operate computers and IT equipment.
  • See and read monitors and documents.
  • Remain seated or standing for extended periods.
Location

Peaks Regional Office, Broomfield, Colorado

Work Hours

40 hours/week, hourly rate $53.58 - $84.36 depending on experience.
