Job description

Job Description:

This position involves complex to expert level work supporting information technology applications through planning, designing, implementing, maintaining, and optimizing systems such as electronic health records, registration, scheduling, billing, lab, radiology, PACS, pharmacy, home care, long-term care, population health, consumer and patient-facing technologies, enterprise resource planning, workforce scheduling, and CRM.

The Principal Analyst oversees technical support, configuration, integration, and maintenance throughout the application lifecycle, providing strategic guidance and ensuring alignment with organizational goals. They manage projects, mentor other analysts, and develop best practices and standards.

Supervision of lower-level analysts may be required.

Essential functions include:

  1. Providing stakeholder support by analyzing and diagnosing problems.
  2. Gathering, validating, and translating technical requirements into specifications.
  3. Configuring, testing, installing, and maintaining systems.
  4. Documenting workflow changes and technical designs.
  5. Partnering with vendors for third-party application support.
  6. Resolving complex issues according to service levels and standards.
  7. Serving as project manager for complex projects, ensuring proper organization and handoff.
  8. Reviewing project quality, managing demand and resources, and mentoring teams.
  9. Developing best practices and standards collaboratively.
  10. Following documentation and change management standards.
  11. Creating training materials for peers and end-users.
  12. Configuring hardware and software to meet client specifications.
  13. Developing business reporting needs.
  14. Participating in on-call and command center duties.
  15. Developing testing plans and scripts.
  16. Attending meetings to promote information flow.
  17. Assisting in budget management and forecasting.
  18. Participating in professional groups and industry discussions.
  19. Managing IT project portfolios for alignment with strategy.
  20. Engaging with leadership and using data to inform decisions.
  21. Tracking project benefits and lessons learned for future improvements.

Skills required:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Visio, Project, and related tools.
  • Deep knowledge of business and applications.
  • Understanding of system analysis and hospital operating systems.
  • Strong needs assessment and documentation skills.
  • Problem-solving and data analysis capabilities.
  • Ability to interpret industry and regulatory information.
  • Excellent communication skills for reports and presentations.
  • Project management expertise.
  • Resource planning and strategic management skills.

Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in IT, healthcare, business, or related field (additional experience may substitute).
  • Healthy Planet Compass Rose certification.
  • 3+ years of experience with Epic Care Management tools.
  • 2+ years building Epic Compass Rose programs.
  • Experience with collaborative care plans and SDoH.
  • Experience with Reporting Workbench and Epic modules like Ambulatory or ClinDoc.
  • Strong Epic application build, configuration, and maintenance skills.
  • Eight years of healthcare experience.

Physical requirements include:

  • Operating computers and IT equipment.
  • Reading monitors and documents.
  • Sustained sitting or standing.

Location: Peaks Regional Office, Broomfield, Colorado

Hours: 40 hours/week

The hourly rate ranges from $53.58 to $84.36, depending on experience.
