Responsible for managing reporting APPs and APP supervisors, including activities related to patient care, service line development, quality improvement, strategic planning, and policy enforcement. Oversees APP clinical work at the top of scope or adherence to the Hospital Playbook. Assesses staffing effectiveness, skill mix, and develops staffing systems responsive to patient volume and acuity. Mentors, coaches, and manages administrative duties such as hiring, onboarding, orientation, performance evaluations, OPPE/FPPE, etc. Represents APPs to review services like the Joint Commission and American College of Surgeons.
The position is typically 50% administrative and 50% clinical, or as determined by the APP Director or VP of APP Services.
Note: This is a 40-hour position that may include off shifts, weekends, and holidays. Provides leadership within the specialty service(s) with potential for expansion based on organizational needs.
The APP Manager reports to the APP Director and physician leader, collaborating on clinical duties. Exercises administrative supervision over APPs.
