Job description

Service Technician II | Vox on Two - Cambridge, MA

Vox on Two is a mid-rise community comprising 228 apartment homes.

Compensation

Our company considers various factors such as education, experience, and location when determining compensation.

  • Hourly: Starting at $24.02 - $30.03 per hour, with an annual starting range of $49,961 - $62,462.
  • Bonus: Average quarterly bonus of $400, totaling approximately $1,600 annually.
  • Total Annual Starting Compensation: $51,561 - $64,062 including base salary and bonus.
Key Responsibilities
  1. General Maintenance: Perform routine tasks including plumbing, electrical, painting, carpentry, and appliance repairs. Maintain property curb appeal and all pool/spa/fountains.
  2. Work Orders: Complete work orders efficiently, closing them within 24 hours using the Yardi system.
  3. Unit Turnover: Prepare vacant units for new residents through painting, cleaning, and repairs.
  4. Emergency Repairs: Respond to emergency maintenance requests and after-hours calls; weekend work required.
  5. Preventive Maintenance: Conduct inspections and preventive maintenance on HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and Fire & Life Safety systems.
  6. Safety & Compliance: Follow safety regulations, maintain a clean and safe environment with proper PPE.
  7. Inventory Management: Track and manage maintenance supplies and equipment, requesting replacements as needed.
  8. Record Keeping: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities using computers and smart devices.
  9. Customer Service: Interact professionally with residents, contractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  10. Team Collaboration: Work closely with property management to resolve maintenance issues.

Your Skills & Experience
  • Education: High school diploma or GED; technical certifications in HVAC, plumbing, electrical preferred.
  • Experience: Minimum 2 years in apartment maintenance or related field; proficiency with tools and systems; strong problem-solving skills; ability to work independently and in teams; excellent communication; EPA Type II and CPO certifications preferred or ability to obtain within 90 days.
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to lift up to 50 pounds; stand, walk, bend, and climb stairs/ladders for extended periods.
