Job summary

Service Technician position is responsible for maintaining the physical assets of the community to meet company standards and applicable laws. Responsibilities include diagnosing problems and performing repairs across HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, exterior structure, tiling, masonry, and appliances.

Key duties include addressing service requests, maintaining supplies, performing preventive maintenance, and participating in on-call rotations while ensuring safety and quality

Qualifications

• Seven years of maintenance-related experience.
• Completion of basic maintenance classes and on-the-job training within one year of hire date.
• Excellent customer service and communication.
• Ability to diagnose and repair HVAC, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, drywall, and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Address, follow up and document service requests
• Maintain an inventory of adequate supplies
• Diagnose HVAC problems and repair or replace components
• Perform preventive maintenance on fan coil and convector HVAC units
• Complete additional preventive maintenance inspections as scheduled
• Participate in on-call rotation as scheduled
• Make repairs to grounds and drainage
• Ensure all work and documentation comply with internal quality control standards
• Maintain personal supply of tools as designated by SMC's Tool Checklist
• Address emergency maintenance as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by manager or supervisor
• Contribute to community and company engagement efforts
