Job summary

University of Dayton Research Institute (UDRI) in Dayton, Ohio, onsite, seeks an Accounts Payable Manager to lead the AP team, build scalable processes, and strengthen internal controls. This leadership role focuses on optimizing the complete AP cycle and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders.

The ideal candidate will have 6+ years in accounts payable, 2+ years of supervision, strong Excel and ERP skills, and a proven track record in process improvement and staff development.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or closely related field OR four years of relevant experience.
• Minimum of six years of directly related experience in accounts payable, accounting operations, or related financial function.
• Two+ years of supervisory or team-lead experience.
• Knowledge of the complete accounts payable cycle including invoice processing, payments, reimbursements, vendor management, reconciliations, and period-end close.
• Experience developing, implementing, or improving accounts payable processes, workflows, and internal controls.
• Ability to analyze and resolve complex accounts payable issues per policies and accounting principles.
• Experience providing direction or training to accounting staff.
• Proficiency with Excel and an ERP/financial system.
• Strong analytical and organizational skills with attention to accuracy.
• Effective written and verbal communication and collaboration with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Experience collaborating with diverse constituents.
• U.S. citizen due to government contracting requirements.
