Job summary

Chicago Public Schools seeks a Manager, Advanced Placement (AP) and International Baccalaureate (IB) to lead the AP and IB teams, ensuring support improves student outcomes aligned with CPS instructional core vision. The role requires a masterful balance of program leadership, strategic planning, and cross-department collaboration to uphold district-wide equity in advanced learning programs.

The position reports to the Director of Advanced Learning and Specialty Programs (ALSP) and demands

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study required
• ISBE teaching certificate with appropriate content and grade-level endorsement required
• LBSI, ESL, or Bilingual Endorsement preferred
• Five (5) years of relevant professional experience in education required
• Three (3) years of teacher leadership experience
• Three (3) years working with adult learners

Responsibilities

• Supervise, develop, and manage the performance of a high-functioning team
• Contribute to strategic planning around AP and IB initiatives
• Collaborate with Program Managers to reflect a coherent district-wide vision
• Facilitate regular meetings with AP/IB coordinators to identify priority areas
• Engage in progress monitoring and feedback to deepen impact
• Provide subject matter expertise on district-wide initiatives and RFPs
• Stay abreast of current research and practices in the field
• Handle other duties and work streams as assigned
