Job summary

Chicago Public Schools (CPS) is seeking an Athletic Program Administrator to oversee interscholastic sports across elementary and/or high schools. The role reports to the Executive Director of Sports Administration and focuses on coordinating sports programs, ensuring district policies, and supporting principals, coaches, and communities.

The position is full-time, exempt, and salary-based, demanding strong leadership, data analysis, and effective communication to maximize student-athlete

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Minimum of three (3) years of experience in sports administration.
• Experience with sports program creation and implementation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Implement and develop CPS K-12 sports programs for elementary and/or high schools.
• Serve as liaison between CPS and city/state athletics contacts.
• Facilitate communication between the Sports Office and principals, coaches, teachers, and students.
• Support coaches and administrators in achieving OSA goals.
• Monitor programs to ensure outcomes, policies, and budget guidelines are met.
• Assist with coach certification, training, and scheduling with fidelity; manage contracts and vendors.
• Aid in design of in-season sports, championships, tournaments, and IHSA/IESA events.
• Highlight student-athletes and programs through district communications.
