American Vision Partners (AVP) is seeking a Team Lead to oversee clinical technician staff and supervise patient care processes, ensuring testing is scheduled, performed, and documented efficiently.

The role emphasizes hands-on leadership, workflow optimization, EHR accuracy, and collaboration with providers to maintain high-quality patient experiences across AVP’s ophthalmology practices.

Qualifications

• Certified COA or COT preferred.
• Experience supervising clinical operations.
• Strong ophthalmic care knowledge.
• Ability to motivate and train staff.
• Excellent written and oral communication.
• Proven supervisory abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple projects.
• Empathetic with patient needs.
• Organized and detail-oriented; team player.
• Proficient computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Scribes for the provider by entering information into the EHR.
• Fills patient rooms and escorts patients as needed.
• Reviews chief complaint and pretest data for issues.
• Performs pretests (tonometry, extra-ocular muscle evaluation, field testing, refractions).
• Ensures smooth visit flow within allotted time.
• Knowlegeable in EHR billing processes.
• Generates prescriptions via Erx.
• Codes and documents exam findings in the EHR.
• Monitors provider schedule for correct patient flow.
• Communicates clinic flow concerns to management.
• Fosters a team environment and follows policies.
• Participates in ongoing training and education.
• Educates patients on ophthalmic conditions and consent.
• Adheres to meaningful use measures.
• Generates letters to referring providers; manages faxes.
• Completes incoming tasks in a timely manner.
• Upholds professional, teamwork, and customer service standards.
• Respects coworkers and patients; performs additional duties as assigned.
