Job summary

American Vision Partners (AVP) seeks a dedicated Oculoplastics Team Lead to supervise the ophthalmology-typed technician/scribe team. Responsibilities include scheduling patient work-ups, ensuring timely appointments, and maintaining supplies for the clinic.

You will guide trainees, coordinate with surgeons, and help optimize clinic operations across AVP’s oculoplastics network, traveling to BDP clinics as needed.

Qualifications

• Certified COA or COT preferred.
• Experience in supervision of clinical operations preferred.
• Working knowledge of all aspects regarding ophthalmic care.
• Demonstrated skills in motivating and training professional staff
• Minimum of 1 year working as an OA/Scribe in Oculoplastics specialty preferred

Responsibilities

• Performs patient work-ups as needed by senior clinical staff.
• Answer patient questions and telephone inquiries.
• Act as surgeon scribe.
• Assist with office procedures, injections, and other clinical procedures as needed.
• Determine which patient should be taken next from the waiting room to be seen.
• Maintain a smooth flow of patients.
• Maintain inventory levels and order supplies.
• Follow up on insurance verifications/status as needed.
• Coordinate provider schedules and adjust as needed.
• Provide back-up support to other technicians.
• Assist in developing training materials for technicians/scribes.
• Participate in training of new oculoplastic techs and scribes.
• Act as a resource to tech/scribe team members.
• Perform other tasks as required
