Job summary

KBR is seeking a Traverse Operations Packet Lead to oversee planning, coordination, transition, and execution of traverse operations in support of Antarctic programs. The role provides functional leadership for moving personnel, cargo, fuel, and equipment across remote locations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with contractual requirements.

Qualifications

• U.S. citizenship and ability to pass a NACI background check.
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in logistics/operations.
• Typically 7+ years in transportation operations or logistics.
• Experience planning and executing complex transportation with multiple stakeholders.
• Excellent written and verbal communication and familiarity with planning, logistics, fleet or resource management systems.

Responsibilities

• Serve as primary point of contact for traverse‑related operational planning and stakeholder coordination.
• Coordinate movement of personnel, equipment, fuel, cargo, and materials between stations and field locations.
• Ensure traverse operations are safe, efficient, and compliant with contracts and environmental/operational requirements.
• Coordinate with Science Planning, Logistics, Fleet Operations, Safety, Field Operations, and Station Management to support mission objectives.
• Oversee traverse fleet readiness, equipment availability, maintenance planning, and support requirements.
• Lead route planning, hazard assessments, weather evaluations, and risk management activities.
• Monitor performance and identify opportunities to improve safety, reliability, and efficiency.
• Prepare reports, analyses, performance metrics, and executive briefings.
• Support budget planning, resource allocation, and equipment replacement planning.
