The Operations Leader - Animal Care promotes and ensures the efficient and effective operations of the Companion Animal Department. This role drives sales of aquatic pets, reptiles, birds, and small companion animals, and coaches Pet Care Center partners to support and enhance the guest experience and animal care. Responsibilities include training, developing, supporting operations scheduling, and leading a high-performing team to meet sales, gross margin, and animal and merchandise shrink targets. The role also involves managing all aspects of the Pet Care Center's business in line with Petco standards and safety procedures.
The Operations Leader supervises Operations Specialists and Senior Aquatics Specialists, supporting Pet Care Center operations and safety.
This role requires support during key hours, including weekends. Most tasks are indoors; some physical activity and travel may be involved, with safety precautions emphasized to prevent injury.
This position involves ongoing contact with guests, partners, vendors, and other departments, including coordination of various Pet Care Center activities and events.
