Job summary

The Salvation Army North & Central Illinois Division is seeking an Angel Tree Coordinator to lead the Angel Tree program and serve as the primary point of contact for related communications.

You will plan and implement the Angel Tree activities, recruit volunteers, manage applications, donations, packing, and distribution, and work with partner organizations to ensure successful outreach during the holiday season.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Background checks required and reviewed.
• Experience: 1–2 years planning large social services events preferred.
• Certifications: Valid driver’s license and Safe From Harm training within 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Recruit volunteers to take applications.
• Organize and implement the application dates.
• Enter applications into the computer program.
• Develop and utilize spreadsheets to detail applicants.
• Verify applications with other organizations to avoid duplicates.
• Create Angel Tree tags for each child and contact businesses to take tags.
• Maintain Angel Tree trees at participating locations.
• Accept, receipt, and log all donations.
• Recruit and schedule volunteers for donations after hours.
• Recruit and schedule volunteers for packing and preparation.
• Coordinate with Toys for Tots for toy donations.
• Recruit and schedule volunteers for distribution.
