Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an anesthesia technician to support complex surgical cases, including cardiac and transplant procedures, in a teaching hospital environment.

The role involves monitoring equipment setup, airway management, IV administration, and assisting with invasive monitoring. Candidates should have 1+ year in an academic hospital and be prepared for rotating on-call, weekend, and holiday schedules.

Qualifications

• Minimum of one year of experience in an academic/teaching hospital.
• Knowledge of a variety of patient care and anesthesia procedures.
• On-Call rotation and weekend rotation are required.
• Travel between campuses may be required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in complex surgeries such as cardiac surgery and liver transplant.
• Assist with monitors and equipment (ECG, NIBP, pulse oximetry, defibrillators, external pacemakers).
• Assist in airway management and patient positioning as directed.
• Place IV solutions and manage warming devices per procedure.
• Support invasive monitoring lines and equipment testing.
• Transport patients and monitor equipment for discrepancies.
