Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking an on‑call, evening shift professional to support anesthesia services. The role includes setup and maintenance of equipment, patient care, and assisting in complex surgeries at multiple campuses.

Responsibilities include monitoring equipment, arterial lines, Swan-Ganz monitoring, and ensuring patient safety while rotating on-call, weekend, and holiday schedules. This is a full‑time, non‑exempt position in the Anesthesiology department.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to high school plus additional specialized training.
• Minimum of one year of experience working in an academic/teaching hospital.
• Knowledge of a variety of patient care and anesthesia procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assists in complex surgeries such as cardiac surgery, transplant (liver) and other major procedures.
• Assists with monitors and equipment (ECG, NIBP, pulse oximetry, defibrillators, pacemakers, etc.).
• Places IV solutions and sets up monitoring lines; assists in invasive monitoring.
• Performs quality assurance tests on equipment and HMS Plus devices.
• Assists in transportation of patients and monitors equipment for discrepancies.
