Job summary

UMass Memorial Health is seeking a non-exempt anesthesia technician to support complex surgeries and anesthesia teams. The role requires on-call responsibilities, weekend coverage, and an evening shift with 8-hour blocks.

You will assist in major surgeries and manage monitors, IVs, and arterial lines in a busy academic hospital setting. The position offers a competitive hourly wage within the specified range, with opportunities for signing bonus eligibility as discussed in the interview.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to high school plus additional specialized training.
• Minimum of one year of experience working in an academic/teaching hospital.
• Knowledge of a variety of patient care and anesthesia procedures.
• Three to twelve months experience.

Responsibilities

• Assists in complex surgeries such as cardiac surgery, transplant (liver), trauma, vascular surgeries, and lumbar drain placement for complex aortic surgeries.
• Assists with application of monitors and equipment (ECG, NIBP, pulse oximetry, defibrillators, external pacemakers, etc.).
• Places IV solutions, arterial lines, and prepares monitoring systems as required.
• Performs quality assurance tests on equipment and assists in patient transportation.
