Job summary

Bristol Myers Squibb is seeking an Analytical Engineer to join our data analytics team in New Jersey. This role focuses on building robust data models, pipelines, and core data layer infrastructure to enable self-service analytics across the organization.

You will bridge data engineering and analytics, emphasizing data quality and governance. The ideal candidate will design dimensional models (star/snowflake), handle slowly changing dimensions, and collaborate with stakeholders across functions.

Qualifications

• BA/BS or higher required.
• CS, Physics, Math, Data Science, Pharmaceutical Science, or Engineering preferred.
• Proficiency with SQL.
• Experience scripting with Python or R.
• Knowledge of DAG-based and asset-based pipeline design.
• Experience with version control (Git, SVN) and Agile development.
• Analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Experience in agile/scrum environments preferred.
• Ability to gather requirements and translate into technical solutions.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills; able to explain analyses to diverse stakeholders.
• Hands-on dbt experience a plus.
• Familiarity with JIRA, Confluence, ServiceNow, MS Office; data tools like Databricks and DBT.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with business to gather requirements and deliver data-products at scale.
• Develop a centralized data-layer and harmonize data across domains.
• Incorporate domain data marts into a central core.
• Harmonize data across manufacturing sites, software, and platforms.
• Design scalable architectural solutions to drive efficiency.
• Define orchestration across multiple data domains.
• Work within a governed metadata framework with documentation as a deliverable.
• Utilize dbt to deliver documented, tested, DRY code.
• Follow analytical lifecycle processes to deliver accurate data on time.
• Focus on speed-to-delivery and enable better decision-making.
