Job summary

MaverickX in Austin, TX, is seeking an Analytical Research Associate to support automated liquid handling systems and high‑throughput screening workflows central to our discovery and development pipeline. This is an excellent opportunity for someone passionate about analytics in an R&D setting.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry/chemistry or related field, 2+ years lab experience, and familiarity with Opentrons, Biomek, or EpMotion.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biochemistry, chemistry, geochemistry, biology, or related field.
• 2+ years hands‑on lab experience with automated liquid handling systems.
• Experience with analytical chemistry techniques and lab equipment.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot liquid handling robots for routine and custom assay workflows.
• Execute high‑throughput screening experiments including sample prep and dosing treatments.
• Perform basic instrument calibration and coordinate with vendors for service needs.
• Follow SOPs and logs to ensure reproducibility and compliance.
• Assist in data collection, entry, and basic analysis using spreadsheets.
• Maintain a clean, organized lab environment and assist in inventory audits.
• Support cross‑functional efforts to meet deadlines.
• Follow safety protocols relevant to chemical and BSL‑2 labs.
