Job summary

MilliporeSigma is seeking a Scientist 2 - Analytical Development in Rockville to lead development and validation of innovative analytical methods for expanding service capabilities. You will serve as SME for method development and ensure robust, standardized processes ready for implementation in a GMP environment.

You will design and execute assays across modalities such as mAbs, cell therapies, ADCs, and viral vectors, while mentoring analysts and coordinating with study managers.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. with 3+ years lab experience.
• Master's with 5+ years lab experience.
• Bachelor's with 7+ years lab experience.
• Experience with HPLC (SEC, RP, IEX) and residual testing.
• Mass spectrometry and protein analytics experience preferred.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of new analytical methods.
• Design, optimize, and troubleshoot assays.
• Perform hands-on execution and technical leadership across modalities (mAbs, ADCs, mRNA, viral vectors).
• Prepare/review protocols, reports, SOPs, and lab records.
• Transfer GMP assays to routine team and train analysts.
• Operate and maintain lab equipment per SOPs.
• Utilize Word, Excel, Oracle, LIMS during testing.
