Job summary

MERIEUX NUTRISCIENCES Crete Analytical Laboratory in Crete, IL seeks a Chemist 2 to perform chemical analyses on food or pharmaceutical samples. You will prepare and process samples, monitor daily activities, and ensure analyses adhere to method requirements.

The role requires an Associates degree (Bachelors preferred) and 2–5 years of experience, with knowledge of HPLC, GC, and AA. Competitive hourly compensation and full-time benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Basic knowledge of microbiology to perform testing procedures and obtain accurate results.
• Associates degree required; Bachelors preferred.
• Two–five years of experience; general knowledge of chemistry and instrumentation.

Responsibilities

• Provide guidance to departmental personnel on analysis procedures and sample preparation.
• Analyze and interpret data; ensure data meets method requirements before reporting to clients.
• Perform analyses with instrumentation (GC, LC, ICPMS, Protein, Fiber, etc.).
• Prepare materials and samples for analysis; maintain laboratory instruments and records.
• Initiate and investigate customer complaints and non-conformances; identify root causes and corrective actions.
• Maintain LIMS knowledge and assist in quality system compliance.
• Keep up-to-date with training and housekeeping schedules.
• Support management in the implementation and improvement of the management system.
