Job summary

Caltrans is seeking a Staff Services Manager I in a twelve-month limited-term capacity to oversee HR liaison activities for the Division of Equipment and HQ programs. The Analyst II will manage personnel matters, payroll and act as a back-up for other HR liaisons, under the Branch Chief.

Salary ranges from $6,031.00 to $7,547.00 per month with a pathway for new-to-state hires at minimum levels. The position is based in Sacramento County with hybrid telework options.

Under the general direction of the Branch Chief, Resource Management, a Staff Services Manager I, the Analyst II is the Division of Equipment's (DOE) liaison regarding all personnel and human resources (HR) matters for DOE Equipment Shops and Headquarters (HQ) programs. The Analyst II provides oversight of personnel concerns including hiring processes, examination needs, and classification studies. The Analyst II is also responsible for personnel/management reports, assisting with payroll concerns, and acting as Back-Up for other HR Liaisons in the HR Liaison Branch.

SROA and Surplus candidates are given priority; therefore, individuals with other eligibility may be considered in the event no SROA or Surplus candidates apply. Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).
