Job summary

The City of Plantation is seeking an exempt Utility Billing and Customer Service Division Manager to lead the water metering, billing and AMI operations. Reporting to the Utilities Director, you will oversee cashiering, customer service, billing maintenance and system upgrades to ensure accurate, timely utility billing.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of accounting and objectives, particularly applied to utility accounting procedures.
• Strong supervisory skills with ability to manage clerical and field personnel.
• Excellent customer service and communication abilities.
• Ability to plan, supervise, and coordinate utility billing functions and AMI systems.
• Proficiency with common office software including Excel, Access, Word.

Responsibilities

• Manages and supervises cashiering, meter reading, customer service, utility billing maintenance and related functions.
• Oversees payment collection, deposits, internal controls and billing processes.
• Maintains service records, general ledger reconciliation and billing systems.
• Plans and ensures compliance with ordinances, procedures, and GAAP.
• Ensures AMI systems and data reporting run smoothly and accurately.
• Supervises meter reading schedules and field staff; coordinates with IT and vendors.
