Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum one year scheduling experience in ambulatory surgery facilities, acute-care hospitals, or doctor’s offices.
• Ability to meet deadlines; punctuality and attendance are essential.

Responsibilities

• Schedule all outpatient surgeries and procedures as requested by the physician or staff.
• Enter patient demographics and insurance information into the billing system.
• Contact payers to verify benefits and obtain authorizations.
• Coordinate with Director of Nursing to ensure equipment and staff availability.
• Prepare and distribute daily surgery schedule to nursing management and staff.
• Capture complete clinical, demographic, and insurance information for scheduled patients.
• Communicate potential conflicts and issues to the Director of Nursing.
• Maintain positive communications with medical staff and offices.
• Cross-train to cover front desk, medical records, and patient account duties.
• Perform other clerical duties as directed by the Business Office Manager.
